“Great event with great venues all day long! People can chill and dance together, also with a good amount of cypher time! Collaboration with different types of art, people and connect the community!!”

“The best event in Vancouver , there was so much love , passion and fun. I was truly enjoying the music, performance and dance.
The event not only inspired a lot of people but also supported different artists. Big thanks to the event and organiser. I will definitely bring more people to the event next time in order to let them feel the vibes.”

"Each One Teach One has clearly been proven to be a necessity in schools, studios, street dance, and contemporary spaces. From week 1 to week 5 students change drastically through their confidence, ability to create on the spot, think critically, and understand the importance of history, foundation, and the future of where the dance is going. There is nothing like these two programs, combining street dance and contemporary modalities for youth. Teaching them from a young age: "your ideas matter, and this is how we can realistically get there" over my time with the schools, teachers consistently let me know that without Each One Teach One, their students wouldn't have unlocked these abilities.”

“Took the concepts and freestyle class today and just wanted to say thank you for your beautiful eloquent facilitation of the session. I felt safe and nurtured especially after a 4 month hiatus from dance. Pls do more meditative sessions like these! They offer such important access points to our authentic self within dance.”

“It was truly a pleasure to work with thriving and wonderful artists, and a community that truly takes care of each other. That's very rare these days, and I can't express my gratitude enough for having me along for the ride. Thank you for allowing me to be creatively inspired by such a fantastic community initiative.”

“One of the best events in Canada so far! Huge shout out to Barangay Project for putting together a magnificent and well organised event. Everything ran on time and the staff was friendly and professional. The talent and special guest performances were amazing and it was so beautiful to see everyone dance and smile all weekend long. I would recommend everyone to come next year to experience this amazing and memorable event!”

“As an attendee of the Open Jam Festival I wanted to describe what a positive impact the event had on me and what I witnessed! From the moment I arrived I was welcomed and felt at ease to participate in the event activities. The organisers and instructors were very hospitable and engaging. I really enjoyed watching everyone open up and make connections so easily. Obviously everyone felt as though they were in a safe space. It was a very diverse community, ranging in many ages, and included guests visiting from Taiwan and Germany! The Friday Jam allowed everyone to explore creative grooving while observing others' movement styles. I was introduced to a brand new style of Dance called Locking, and I am now learning this style with people I met at this event! The Saturday Battle was mind blowing as we witnessed the vibrant skills and talents of the competitors. People came as far as Toronto just to showcase their artform style. This event was really bringing people TOGETHER! The Sunday workshops were very informative and fun. Instructors were teaching the fundamental steps and history of the dance forms yet emphasis was placed on personal self expression. I am currently using the concepts I learnt at home to improve and explore more freestyle confidently. From attending this event I am more knowledgeable in street styles of Dance and I have made a new network of friends. I hope more events like this are offered in the future. The entire experience was positively life changing! Nothing to improve on: Event was sensational!”
